Altanova is a sustainability consulting firm based in New York City. It combines strategic and technological analysis to boost the performance of clients’ assets, operations and reputation. Since 2006 it has served a mix of real estate, corporate clients and investors worldwide.
Engagements include helping a biotech company be ranked the most sustainable corporation in the world, turning a tech giant’s workplaces better to perform in for its global workforce, crafting and implementing global energy strategies, and performing one of the Americas’ most extensive peer reviewed Life Cycle Analyses. As a part of these efforts the firm has completed high performance design and optimization for over 40 million square feet of real estate.
Altanova was founded in 2007 by Julien Lafond to help bridge the gap between executives and technical experts in the emerging field of sustainability. After spending 14 years advising global energy, aerospace, and consumer companies, Julien began seeing value creation lost when executives became disconnected from technical resources. Further, he found that experts on the ground often lacked the tools needed to manage increasing complexity.
Altanova was created to bridge these worlds and bring better science and technology into the hands of executives to advance their sustainability and business objectives.
Over the past eight years, Altanova has evolved tremendously in terms of size and business approach. The company has built a network of engineers and technical resources overseeing high impact projects in the US, Europe, and South America. They have completed well over 300 projects in the built environment and helped global corporations rise to the top of sustainability rankings. Altanova has also expanded its data focused methodology to drive social sustainability impact through wellness and workplace programs.
