Borrowing from the United Nations’ definition of sustainable development Sustainable manufacturing “meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

There are two distinctions in the way sustainable manufacturing is referred to. Sustainable manufacturing includes the manufacturing of “sustainable” products and the sustainable manufacturing of all products. Altanova aim is to help its clients address both of these topic areas and emphasize the sustainable manufacturing of all products taking into account the full sustainability life cycle issues related to the products manufactured.

Altanova works with Facility managers and process engineers responsible for facility operations, process design, energy and water use, environmental health and safety, and sustainability as well as product designers and managers looking to improve the existing, develop new products or demonstrate "green" credentials.
